Price is Right on Defense

Junior Ricky Price isn't Oklahoma State's first player to make the transition from offense to defense, but the receiver-turned-defensive back is one of the few Cowboy players making a position switch this season.

Price, who played both ways in high school, said the transition has been a smooth one so far, but OSU has only completed two of its 15 spring workouts.

"(Defense is) a lot different from offense on the college level," Price said. "I played both in high school, so I kind of have a background in defense and a background in offense. I just think from the looks of it, I got a lot more learning. I just think I'm getting better everyday."

The transition has been made easier, Price said, by first year defensive coordinator Tim Beckman. With the entire defense learning a new system, Price said he's on the same page as everyone else.

"We installed our whole defense in basically two days and everybody's kind of picking it up," Price said. "It's coming together great."
