Freeman and Wright finish high school duel
March 3, 2007 - Georgetown class of 2007 student athletes-to-be, Austin Freeman and Chris Wright, have over the last three years proven themselves not only two of the best players in the Washington, DC area, but provided many memories for observers in the process of leading their respective teams, DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, MD) and St. John's College High School.
Wednesday at D.C.'s Galludet University, the two future Hoyas again displayed their ability, when DeMatha won their third consecutive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title, 76-62, before a packed house.
Though there is no doubting his individual impact, Wright's St. John's teams have failed to vanquish Freeman's DeMatha squads, losing two consecutive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title games and 11 straight over a four year period to that school: Wright never defeated the Stags during season-competition over his career.
