Not too long ago, Notre Dame struggled to recruit running backs.
Now, with the Irish offense under the direction of Charlie Weis and Darius Walker off to the NFL Draft, Notre Dame appears ready to return to stockpiling backfield talent. After signing three backs last year including five-star talent James Aldridge, Notre Dame could be on the verge of inking another talented group of rushers. Armando Allen is already on campus for winter workouts as an early enrollee and later today Robert Hughes will choose between Notre Dame and Illinois.
