Louis Holmes expecting big 2007 season
After entering Arizona as the most highly rated prospect in its program's history, 6-foot-6, 270-pound defensive end Louis Holmes, played well as a junior, helping lead the Wildcats to a 6-6 record.
Holmes finished the season with 36 tackles, a team-high 4.0 sacks, 5.0 tackles for loss, two pass break-ups, a team-high four quarterback hurries and a team-high two forced fumbles.
His play was rewarded after the season, earning second-team All Pac-10 honors. However, in December, Holmes considered leaving Arizona a year early to go to the NFL and requested information from the league on his draft standing.
After hearing back from the NFL that he was the fourth rated junior defensive end prospect, Holmes made the decision to return to Arizona and play one last season as a Wildcat.
