KU ready to hit the road
The last time the No. 9 ranked Kansas Jayhawks (12-2; 0-0) took the court, they defeated Rhode Island (8-7; 1-0), 80-69. The Hawks will look to improve their winning streak to seven games when they travel to South Carolina (10-2; 0-0) on Sunday afternoon. Will there be a change in the starting lineup when the Jayhawks face the Gamecocks at 3:30 CST?
"No, nothing crazy," said Bill Self in regards to any changes being made on Sunday. "Russell Robinson has been dinged up, but he did practice today because he's got kind of a quad bruise. I can't see anything right now, unless something happens and we have an injury between now and then."
When Self and the Hawks travel to South Carolina, it was be just their second true road test of the season. The first time around, KU blew a 14-point lead at DePaul back on December 2. The Jayhawks were in complete control of the game, but just couldn't make enough plays down the stretch to seal the win.
It should come as no surprise that Self is hoping for a different outcome this time around.
"This will be a good road test," said Self. "The last road game we didn't play very well. We still had a chance to win as poorly as we played. Hopefully, we will perform a lot better in this game. We are looking forward to getting away.
