Leggett excited to be a Spartan
Muskegon (Mich.) High School Ashton Leggett had a magical senior season in which he rushed for 2,021 yards and 35 touchdowns while leading his Big Reds to a Division 2 state championship.
With his high school football career behind him, Leggett is focused on getting his body ready for the rigors of Big Ten football and trying to find his way onto the playing field as a true freshman at Michigan State next fall.
Leggett committed to Michigan State on Dec. 23, a week after returning from his official visit to East Lansing.
Leggett committed to Michigan State over offers from most of the MAC including Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois and Toledo. Leggett visited Central (Dec. 1) and Toledo (Dec. 8). Leggett was receiving a significant amount of interest from Michigan before he committed to Michigan State.
