Tuberville suspends three players

When it comes to acting responsibly off the field and in the classroom, Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville doesn't allow his players to cut corners.

Three players found out the hard way Friday when Tuberville announced the indefinite suspension of linebackers Kevin Sears and Tray Blackmon along with backup running back Brad Lester. Both Sears and Blackmon served suspensions to start this season with Sears missing three games and Blackmon six.

A senior, Sears' AU career has come to an end. Both Lester and Blackmon will have an opportunity to return in the spring but neither will make the trip to Dallas for the Cotton Bowl.

"We've got one boss here and that's me," said Tuberville. "Everybody has to do it the same way. It doesn't make any difference if you're a starter or a walk-on."

Tuberville did not go into details on the suspensions terming them a "violation of team rules." But the players are made well aware of the expectations they must meet and the rules they must follow before they begin their first practice at Auburn.
