Ask the expert Q&A: ASU Sun Devils

There's few people out there that know the Sun Devils like Chris Karpman of ASUDevils.com. We asked Karpman several questions about the Sun Devils to help give UA fans insight into Arizona's final regular season opponent.

1. Rudy Carpenter has had somewhat of a disappointing sophomore season. What would you say is the main reason for his struggles?

The overwhelming issue here is Arizona State losing three of its top four players at wide receiver from last season (Derek Hagan, Matt Miller, Moey Mutz) and having the other of the four, Terry Richardson be a virtual non-contributor in the offense. Additionally, senior receiver Jamaal Lewis was expected to be a key player at the position after moving from tight end last season, but had off-field issues, and Rudy Burgess probably would have been as well, but he was plagued with injuries all season. You can even throw in the fact that Angelo Richardson, arguably the top JUCO receiver prospect in last year's signing class in the Pac-10, never joined the team because he was seriously injured in a shooting before enrolling.
