Tackles causing plenty of trouble
They offer choices. None are appealing.
When the opposition draws up blocking schemes to combat Notre Dame's defensive tackles, offensive lines can either double team Derek Landri or double team Trevor Laws. If they double team both tackles, that leaves Victor Abiamiri one-on-one on the edge, probably the worst scheme of all when it comes to slowing Notre Dame's front four.
That means on almost every snap either Landri or Laws gets a chance to make a play against a single blocker. Notre Dame's defensive tackles are taking advantage of their opportunities at an alarming rate.
