Scalici: Five on the Spot
It's Iron Bowl week and the Tide is hoping to stop the Tigers' streak and get their first win ever in T-town. These are the five Crimson Tide players that must step their games up this week for the Iron Bowl.
The Offensive Line - This game is all about domination and if the Tide hope to have any chance of putting up points, they'll need the best performance of the season from the offensive front.
DB Simeon Castille - The wheels came off the Auburn offense last week after some early turnovers by Brandon Cox. If Castille can make plays on the ball and put a scare in the Auburn offense early, it could be the key to shifting the tide of the rivalry.
PK Jamie Christensen - It's been a disappointing season for "Money" but a clutch performance against Auburn could erase all the bad memories. In close, physical games the kicker is often called upon to make the game-winning play and Christensen will have to be ready to be the hero once again.
RB Kenneth Darby - No one has placed more importance on this game than KD and the weight of the Tide offense is on his shoulders. If Darby can give the Tide a legitimate ground threat, it will allow the passing game to get vertical and run all over the Tigers.
WR DJ Hall - Not that Hall could play much better than he's been playing but the Auburn defense will likely be keying on the Tide star in an effort to take away the Tide's biggest offensive threat. If Hall wants to break David Palmer's record and help the Tide to a win, he'll need to come up with another spectacular performance.
