Mission Accomplished

Recruiting has been Bob Huggins' No. 1 focus since arriving at Kansas State, and Huggins' hard work paid off today when he landed the top-rated recruiting class in the nation. Here are the signing day comments of the Wildcat head coach concerning Michael Beasley, Fred Brown, Jacob Pullen, Dominique Sutton and Bill Walker.

Excited to have this phase done?
"Yeah. This is pretty much all we've done since we got here. It's great to have it over with. These guys have all been really solid. They've been terrific."

Was there ever any concern about people trying to come in and take these guys away?
"Uh-huh. Yeah, until about 20 minutes ago. Yeah. There are people who have tried to get in on most of them, actually. They've been really good. Our guys have done such a great job. Dalonte has done such a great job with Mike (Beasley) and Jake (Pullen). He's got such a great relationship with them, and Dominique (Sutton) as well. He's kind of been on top of everything."

What did you learn about how people view K-State during this process?
"We didn't know very much. We live in a world where television is extremely important. That's how players start to recognize programs, coaches and coaching staffs. We just haven't been on TV enough. We need to get on TV more. We're working on that."
