Andrews getting the most out of young defense

With Florida State having arguably its worst season 25 years, it's easy to overlook outstanding accomplishments of a player or coach. And there have been a few, but the one that has stood out the most and deserves recognition is the coaching effort being turned in by Mickey Andrews.



The 'Noles' defensive coordinator for the last 23 years freely admits he has never experienced a season where his squad has been so decimated by injuries. After losing six players to the NFL draft last April, this was not a good season for any coaching staff to be hit so hard by injuries. But that's exactly what happened and the numbers are staggering. Nevertheless, with the regular season 75 percent completed, FSU currently boasts the nation's No. 10 defense.
