Answering the bell

The knockout punch, it's the one reason Baylor's defense has drawn criticism.

When Baylor has needed a big play at the end of games the D has not been able to get off the field. Against Washington State it was a game ending field goal. Versus Army there were a few times the defense could have taken the Black Knights out, but just could not do it.

In the Big 12 opener against Kansas State, Baylor found their right hook, five of them.

"We had five turnovers this week and had two picks by the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week (Dwain Crawford)," Baylor head coach Guy Morriss said Monday.
