Bernstine watches Iowa victory
The top ranked player in the state, Jordan Bernstine, was in Iowa City on Saturday to watch the annual in-state rivalry game between the Hawkeyes and Cyclones. The 5-foot-10, 200-pound Bernstine, who currently has both schools on his short list, said he enjoyed the overall experience at the game.
Bernstine made the drive to Iowa City with Des Moines Lincoln teammates Freddie Hinton, Adam Robinson, and L.J Gamblin on Saturday. The night before, Lincoln suffered their first loss of the season, as they were upset by Roosevelt, 6-0. In the game, Bernstine carried the ball eight times for 77 yards and caught two passes for 43 yards, but mistakes and turnovers kept Lincoln out of the end zone. Despite the tough loss, the four players made the trip to Iowa City Saturday morning to watch the heated in-state rivalry game in person.
On the recruiting side of things, Bernstine continues to have six schools at the top of his list in Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Texas A&M, UCLA, and Pittsburgh. Coming up this week, the four-star prospect will make his first official visit of the year, as he will travel to Texas A&M, followed by a visit to Nebraska in October.
