Why you should care about...

With so many recruits to keep tabs on, it can be difficult to understand who really has the goods and who doesn't. As the high school season continues, BuckeyeSports.com will profile highly recruited players being pursued by Ohio State and see if the hype matches up with the on-field talent.

  • The Subject: Dane Sanzenbacher, a 5-11, 174-pound wide receiver from Toledo Central Catholic High School.

  • What he does best: To put it simply, catch the ball. Sanzenbacher caught 12 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns against Hilliard Darby in a 14-7 win for Central Catholic Friday night. The first touchdown was a simple out route on which he pulled in an 11-yard touchdown with less than a minute to play in the first half.

    Then, with Darby leading 7-6 in the fourth quarter, Sanzenbacher, in single coverage, made a difficult, arms-extended catch on a toss from quarterback Tyler Kleeberger on a third-down screen pass, shook a tackler and raced to the end zone to give Central Catholic the lead for good.

    Sanzenbacher runs good routes and does his best to get open given what has developed on the play. He catches almost everything, but had some trouble on a wet night in Hilliard - he dropped two passes, including a possible touchdown catch that tipped off his outstretched hands near the sideline during the first quarter.
