Battling It Out

The football season is quickly approaching and Boston College still has a few questions to answer at certain positions. They also have what looks to be one of their most impressive groups of freshmen, but how many will play and what are the key positional battles? Check it out.

The freshman making the most noise is running back Jeff Smith, but will he play as a true freshman? All indications say yes. Smith won't be the punt returner it seems because DeJuan Tribble is darn good at that position, but Smith could return kicks with his speed. Smith could also be the No. 3 running back as well, but where does that leave A.J. Brooks? Likely on the bench unless he stops fumbling the ball. Brooks was stuffed in the latest scrimmage but that's not the issue. Tom O'Brien hates fumblers and Brooks remains in the doghouse.
