Practice report: Tigers healing up

The Missouri offense donned the black jerseys for a third consecutive day on Wednesday morning. The Tiger defense was delivering some tough hits hoping to get back in black. Here is a full report:

*David Overstreet, Marcus Woods and Hardy Ricks were all wearing red pullovers and participated in limited drills during the day.

*Tyler Luellen was red-free for the second consecutive practice.

*After practice, Pinkel informed us that Andrew Hoskins had a minor knee injury (believed to be a strained MCL) and Jason Ray would be in a boot for a couple of days battling turf toe.

*Offensive guard Ryan Madison was taking reps with the first team line in place of Monte Wyrick.

Pinkel said Wyrick was still number one, but that Madison was making a push. In such situations, he said the coaches will often split time between two players with the top unit.

*Play of the Day: Brian Smith, at times, looks unblockable. On one play, Smith burst through the line and nearly intercepted an option pitch from Daniel to Temple. After running past the play, Smith turned around and chased Temple down on the sideline for a two-yard loss. Not many defensive ends are quick enough to do that.
