Lyon learning the system

In years past at Arizona, if a quarterback with Tyler Lyon's talent committed to the UA program, he would be expected to compete for a starting spot the following season.

Now that sophomore Willie Tuitama has taken the reigns of the offense, the competition is for the backup spot.

Coming out of high school, Lyon, from Newhall, Calif., was ranked 10th in the nation among all pro-style quarterbacks. Besides Arizona, Lyon also received offers from Arizona State, BYU, Oregon State, and Notre Dame.
