Roach looking to return to form

Northwestern fans got a taste of what linebacker Nick Roach was capable of two years ago, when the Wildcats took on Ohio State at sold-out Ryan Field.

Just a sophomore, Roach had his coming out party by registering nine tackles and 1.5 sacks in the Wildcats' thrilling 33-27 overtime win over the heavily-favored Buckeyes.

Coming off the edge from his outside linebacker spot, Roach was unblockable at times and spent the night in Ohio State quarterback Justin Zwick's kitchen. Roach helped force Zwick into throwing 20 incompletions as the Cats notched their first win over Ohio State since 1971.

Based on that promising second season, the sky seemed to be the limit for Roach in 2005. But that was before the dark clouds - in the form of injuries - rolled in.
