Running backs have challenges

Like the tight end position, the running backs also have challenges they are facing. First challenge is replacing the instant offense that NFL bound Maurice Drew produced. Gone, too is Eric Bieniemy who had done a fantastic job coaching the running backs since arriving in Westwood. Thankfully for Bruin fans there are capable people ready to step up to the challenges that 2006 present.


There will be a familiar face taking over for Bieniemy in Dino Babers.


Babers is an experienced coach who helped improve wide receiver production over the last two years in all facets of their game.


For those who forgot, Babers came to UCLA from the Pittsburgh staff where he was the Panthers running backs coach and before that he was offensive coordinator for the most prolific Arizona Wildcat offense in their history. He was also offensive coordinator for Texas A&M.
