Rivals250 QB closing in on decision
Rivals250 quarterback Josh Nesbitt plans to have three to five finalists in the very near future and is closing in on a final decision as to where he'll play his college football.
"I'm winding down here in the next couple of weeks," he said. "It's pretty much the same as it's been. I play on narrowing my list to three teams or five teams in two weeks or three weeks."
So when will Nesbitt narrow it to one team?
"Before the first game of the season," he said. "I want to go ahead and get it out of the way."
The 6-foot, 204-pounder, Georgia's No. 14 overall prospect, says that a number of schools, including Georgia Tech, Florida, Auburn, UCF, South Carolina, Georgia and others could wind up making his final list.
The Gamecocks and Golden Knights are newcomers to the Nesbitt sweepstakes.
"Pretty much in the past month or so, South Carolina just started sending me more and more letters," Nesbitt said. "And I wouldn't mind playing for Steve Spurrier.
"With UCF, I pretty much know what the coaches have told me. I haven't been down there to check it out."
Florida recently has entered the race as well.
"I like the type of offense that Urban Meyer runs," Nesbitt said. "I like the option."
While he remains open, Nesbitt made it clear that what position he wanted to play in college.
"It's important to me (to play quarterback)," he said. "I know I could play safety, but I wanted to challenge myself at quarterback. I feel like I need to have the ball in my hands at all times."
