Bernstine knows his position with Irish

After a summer filled with outstanding camp and combine performances, Jordan Bernstine deserves some down time.

"I'm just in a down period, just relaxing," said the defensive back from Des Moines, Iowa. "We started our once-a-week practices about two weeks ago so we're doing that and getting ready for the season to start."

Bernstine didn't relax much in the spring. Instead, he attended camps and combines to show college coaches what he could do. His 95.27 SPARQ Rating at the Columbus NIKE Camp earned him a spot on the NIKE Camp first-team All-American list and helped him draw even more interest from college coaches.

The 5-foot-10, 200-pounder is also hearing from several other top colleges including Notre Dame, where he camped in June. Bernstine holds offers from Iowa, Nebraska, UCLA, Pittsburgh and Purdue among others.
