Pullen narrowing his field

Dayton has secured commitments from two budding prospects for their three open scholarships for 2007. Their recruiting class is off to a quick start with verbal pledges from Chris Wright and Devin Searcy, but the final piece to complete the puzzle could be Proviso East's Jacob Pullen.

Jacob Pullen is a 6-1, 175-pound point guard out of Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois. This past season, Pullen averaged 21 points, eight assists, and five steals in helping the Pirates to a 26-6 record. Though he still is likely a few months away from a decision, he's starting to get on some campuses and narrow his field down.

"I've been to Marquette," said Pullen when asked about visits. "I had a lot of fun, I really liked the campus. They had nice dorms and it's a quiet town."

He was also on the campus of Iowa State for camp along with recent Dayton commitment Devin Searcy. The two of them along with Chris Wright will travel to Indianapolis this week for the prestigious Nike All-America Camp.
