2006 Look Ahead: Louisville Cardinals

Sept. 23 @Bill Snyder Family Stadium, kickoff TBA

Returning Starters: 19 (8 offense, 9 defense, kicker, punter)
2005 Record: 9-3
Coach: Bobby Petrino

Cardinal to Watch: Running back Michael Bush (6-3, 250 Sr.)
Picking one Louisville player to focus on is difficult, but to beat the Cardinals you must be able to at least slow a punishing ground game led by Bush. The senior is one of college football's most prolific scoring threats after reaching the endzone 23 times a year ago. A physically imposing 250-pound back, Bush could create problems for an undersized K-State defense.

Wildcat to Watch: Defensive tackle Quintin Echols
It's possible that the 6-foot-2, 305-pound Echols will be the only starter on K-State's defense who is actually bigger than Bush, and it will be up to the Wildcats' senior defensive tackle to hold his ground in the middle of the defensive line against Bush and a talented stable of Cardinal running backs.
