In-state linebacker close to getting offered

For most of Sunday morning, Fort Bend (Texas) Dulles linebacker Brandon Herron wasn't feeling especially good.

Forget abut the 95-degree temperatures that scorched the Austin skyline because Herron's top concern in this A.M. was the lack of rest that deprived him of being full strength in both mind and body on one of the most important days of his young life.

No, as far as a good start to the day was concerned, things couldn't have been going much worse, especially when the anxiety caused his nerves to go.

Heck, this stuff was going on and it wasn't even lunchtime yet.

However, just as soon as the weather can change in the Lone Star State, Herron's fortunes began to look better. By the time the sun had set in the Texas Hill Country, things had changed to the point of near celebration.

On an afternoon where his performance might have been the final stamp of approval or rejection on a pending scholarship offer from Mack Brown, Herron was basking in a sense of fulfillment after a very emotionally taxing day.
