NorCal standout on UCLA's watch list

Two-way standout wide receiver/cornerback Brandon Carswell (6-2, 180, 4.5) from Milpitas, Calif., was one of the most impressive looking athletes at the NIKE Camp that was held in Palo Alto last Saturday. He passed the look test and looked pretty good in drills, too. Carswell brings a lot of versatility to the table and he is being recruited more an athlete.

Carswell is a good all-around athlete who has played wide receiver and quarterback on offense while playing corner on defense.

The Bruins like players who are athletic and versatile enough to do a lot of things. Carswell certainly fits that bill.

From his wide receiver position, Carswell caught 32 receptions for 711 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior. As a quarterback he threw for 696 yards and passed for nine touchdowns.

Carswell was just as impressive on defense as he racked up 38 tackles and had eight picks.

According to Carswell, Cal, UNLV, Utah and Idaho are close to offering.

UCLA, USC, Cal, Oregon, Washington and UNLV and a lot more have been by the school to check Carswell out.
