Rutgers offers Stapleton
By the time May rolls around, many of the top players involved in the Class of 2007 are already household names. With that said, Desmond Stapleton is a name that most Rutgers fans are even more familiar with, due to his brother's position on the Scarlet Knights. Last week, Rutgers joined Virginia in offering the younger Stapleton, and ScarletNation.com spoke with the junior about the offer and his performance at Monday night's Elite College Combine.
Stapleton, 6-foot-6 and 318-pounds, first gave his general opinion on the Elite College Combine.
"It was a good experience, but I thought the one-on-one's should've been longer," said Stapleton.
So far in May, coaches from South Florida, Wisconsin, Maryland, and Virginia have stopped by to see Stapleton at school, plus he received his second offer from Rutgers last Wednesday.
As he previously stated in an interview, the fact that his older brother is at Rutgers is definitely a benefit to the Scarlet Knights.
