A new A&M offer goes out

For college coaches and high school junior basketball players, the spring AAU season is an important time for evaluating talent. Coaches can attend these regional and national events to evaluate a large number of prospects in one place, and a relatively unknown prospect can show his skills and immediately jump onto the recruiting radar screen.

And that's just what happened to Nathan Walkup, a 6-foot-6, 185-pound wing from Deer Park High School.

Walkup recently got an offer from Texas A&M to go along with an offer from Rice.
