Spring review: Overstreet leads safeties

The final line of defense is our final focus in reviewing every position on the Tiger roster out of spring football. Safety has been a spot in good hands for the last few seasons and there is no reason to expect that to change in 2006.

Without a doubt, David Overstreet is one of the defensive leaders. He missed much of spring ball after having knee surgery, but as soon as he can run, last year's leading tackler will be atop the depth chart.

But the other safety spot should be one of the best battles to watch when fall camp opens in early August. Brandon Massey may have the slight edge on William Moore as spring camp broke, but it's a battle that should wage on well into fall camp, and quite possibly beyond.
