York to take visit this weekend

As the only underclassman to earn all-league and all-area honors in 2005, offensive tackle Carson York from Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, Lake City has to prove nothing to anybody, but he will. The big man from the northwest has offers from five Pac-10 schools, as well as an in-state offer.

York has plans to check out Oregon this weekend, and to sit in on one of their spring practices.

"I'm going to see both Oregon and Oregon State this weekend," York said. "Oregon has been recruiting me pretty heavily; the coaches seem like good guys."

"When I make my decision I don't want to have any regrets. Right now, it's Stanford and Oregon. Oregon offers me the best chance to win (as a football school). With Stanford, when I'm 40 I don't want to wonder what it would have been like to go there, you know?

"The other school would be Washington State; they are the big school around here. They are an hour away, so I don't think I can rule them out."

York's offer list consists of Pac-10 schools Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, and in-state Idaho.
