Offensive line, QBs making progress

"We're making progress, making some plays," he said after Tuesday's workout, which was conducted in full pads. "Gotta keep pushing on them, keeping leaning on them to do the little things, but we're making strides.

"I think the group that's starting to come around is the offensive line. You're talking about five guys that all have to be on exactly the same page on every single play in order for you to get something done. I think those guys have probably come the farthest. And I think the quarterbacks have made some strides as well."

Brian White and Bernard Jackson were both listed at the top of yesterday's depth chart at quarterback. Hawkins has continuously dispelled rumors that White, the pro-style quarterback, has an advantage in the race over Jackson, who is known for his ability to make plays on the ground.

"They have totally different styles and that's fine," he expressed. "We can go with whichever guy's style is the best. I really want B-Jack to run around and he can throw, too. If you had Michael Vick, you wouldn't tell him, 'Don't scramble, don't run'. That's part of his game, that's what makes him good.
