Grant Perry eyes first Big Ten offer
With six MAC school offers under his belt Bloomfield Hills (Mich.) Brother Rice 2015 wide receiver Grant Perry knows he'll play football and attend college on scholarship but he really wants to land some Big Ten offers. Michigan has been showing interest in the number one target of current commit Alex Malzone, but the staff has decided not to pull the trigger just yet. A huge senior season could change a lot of things moving forward for Perry.
Entering his senior year Perry has been able to receive attention from most of the MAC and some Big Ten schools as well. No one from the Big Ten has offered yet, but there is some competition for his services among the Mid-American Conference.
"Central has offered me, Ball State, Buffalo, Kent State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan," Perry outlined. "Those are all good offers. Obviously everyone works for bigger and better and getting offers from the Big Ten would be great, but right now I'm really focused on my season. For someone like Michigan to come along then I think I need to show what I can do on the field and off the field stuff as well."
Michigan may decide to throw it's hat in the ring but Indiana and Purdue have been in contact with Perry a lot and an offer from them seems inevitable.
His contact with Michigan is pretty regular and he's been to Ann Arbor multiple times for different events.
"I talked quite a bit with Coach Heck during the BBQ," Perry explained. "Me and Coach Ifft have been in contact a lot since the BBQ. We talk on Facebook and stuff and he sends me letters still so that's been good."
Perry will undoubtedly be Malzone's No. 1 target this fall and a breakout senior season could be just what the doctor ordered for Perry when it comes to that next tier of offers. If Michigan decides to offer late in the cycle expect Perry to follow his quarterback to Ann Arbor.
