Ganz ready to take the next step

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - It's almost fitting that the final game of graduate assistant Joe Ganz's time at Nebraska will end in the same city his Husker playing career did.

In 2008 Ganz led NU to a 26-21 upset victory over Clemson in the Gator Bowl en route to being named the game's MVP after throwing for 236 yards. On Wednesday Ganz's three-year run as a graduate assistant/intern coach at Nebraska will come to a close following the Gator Bowl against Georgia.

Ganz has been instrumental in the development of quarterbacks Taylor Martinez, Tommy Armstrong and Ron Kellogg, along with his input on Tim Beck's offensive system.

Ganz's future after this year is unknown, but Husker head coach Bo Pelini knows the Illinois native is bound for greatness in the coaching business one day.
