Bowl notebook: Huskers rested and ready

With a late Thanksgiving followed by just two weeks of December recruiting allowed by the NCAA, it's been a very unique bowl month for Nebraska (8-4) as they get ready for their New Year's Day match-up with Georgia (8-4) in Jacksonville.

Head coach Bo Pelini and his team have practiced just four times since their season ending loss to Iowa, and will conduct two more practices in Lincoln on Friday and Saturday before giving the players a four-day break for Christmas.

NU's players will report back to Lincoln on Wednesday Dec. 25 at 7 pm, and depart for Jacksonville at 10:30 am on Dec. 26. The Huskers are scheduled to have four practices in Jacksonville, giving them a total of 10 workouts during the course of bowl month.

Pelini said on Thursday the time off from practice was needed, and he feels like the team has come back refreshed both mentally and physically.
