Meeker recaps Iowa visit

Cedar Rapids Prairie offensive lineman Bryce Meeker has played his way into two scholarship offers and early interest from a number of schools across the Midwest. This Saturday, the Class of 2015 standout spent the day in Iowa City visiting the Hawkeyes for practice. We caught up with Meeker for a complete update.

Q: How did the visit to Iowa go?

MEEKER: It went pretty good. It could have gone better but for the most part it went pretty good.

Q: Why could it have gone better?

MEEKER: Maybe just a little bit more 1-on-1 with the coaches and more time talking to the coaches.

Q: What did you do while you were in Iowa City?

MEEKER: We had lunch and talked to them. Then we had a presentation with Coach Doyle, the strength and conditioning coach. Then we went to and looked around the field. Then we sat in with the position coaches and listened to the coach's talk to the players. Then we watched the practice.

Q: What was the highlight of the trip?

MEEKER: Something I really enjoyed was talking to the coaches when I had the time to.

Q: Did they let you know your status in recruiting at all?

MEEKER: They just said it was nice to see you here and thanks for coming. They hope to see me again soon.

Q: What schools are recruiting you the hardest?

MEEKER: Probably Iowa State, Nebraska, and Iowa.
