Myles moving out of state

There have been rumors swirling for months, but now it is official that top Class of 2016 hoops prospect Jerry Myles will be transferring out of state as he will make the move from Davenport West to Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas this season. We caught up with his dad, Jerry Myles Sr., and talked to him about the move, his son's recruiting, and much more.

Q: Why did Jerry decide to transfer?

MYLES SR: He was with MoKan (AAU) and the Sunrise Christian players are good. We asked about what was going on with their program. I talked to them and we went and looked at the place. We felt it was a good fit for what Jerry needed.

Q: From your perspective, what was it that Jerry needed down there?

MYLES SR: One thing is that it is a Christian school. You always want your kid to go to a Christian school and we want him to have good character. Number two was the structure. He has less opportunity to be around outside influences. The kids seem to be pretty much developed body wise and with their maturity.
