Recruiting Tales: Will Shields

Over the summer months HuskerOnline.com will be introducing a new feature called "Recruiting Tales" where we flashback with former Nebraska coaches on legendary recruiting stories.

In our first edition of "Recruiting Tales" we interviewed former Nebraska offensive line coach Milt Tenopir about how he discovered and signed future Outland Trophy winner Will Shields.

The Lawton, Okla. native signed with the Huskers in 1989 and would go on to become a 12-time Pro Bowl guard for the Kansas City Chiefs starting 231 consecutive games. In 2011 Shields was named to the College Football Hall-of-Fame and his jersey was retired at NU in 1994. It's only a matter of time before he's inducted into the NFL Hall-of-Fame.
