BYU Gets Commit From OT

Coach Tujague is impacting the 2013 recruiting class as De'ondre Wesley from Diable Valley Community College committed earlier this week. Wesley is a 6-foot-6, 310-pound offensive tackle who was once committed to Utah. "They were the first to offer in the summer, I originally committed to Utah shortly after they offered and I really liked the coaching staff and the players there but I also wanted to see other universities and see if Utah was the right choice" said Wesley.

More recently though Wesley was committed to Arizona State until they had a transfer and did not have room for Wesley. With offers from Utah and Colorado State, Coach Tujague and the Cougars jumped in the mix getting Wesley to visit the campus and consider BYU. Getting him campus ultimately decided his decision.

"BYU has so many different qualities to its school. If you go and graduate from BYU then you automatically can go find a good job anywhere you want. And that is really what set it apart. They have the exclusive broadcasting facility here and that is what I want to major in (broadcast journalism). Plus last year they beat San Diego State in the Poinsettia and I feel they on the rise, and with the schedule they have they are playing the top competition. So with the academics and athletics that is what I am looking for" said Wesley.

Maybe finding recruits who want to get a degree in broadcast journalism is the key. Wesley raved about the building and campus. "I've never seen anything like that before, and that it is run by students. I have never seen anything like that on any other campus."

Wesley plans arriving to BYU in June and is expected to play right tackle.
