Florida receiver talks offer

The new Tennessee coaching staff has quickly gone to work in a place that was kind to the Cincinnati program while Butch Jones and his now-Vol assistants were in the Queen City.

An always fertile recruiting ground, Jones and his staff have reached out and offered multiple players from Florida in the last two weeks and that includes wide receiver James Clark from New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

"I was just getting in from a workout and I had a phone call from Tennessee and that's when they let me know it was the new staff coming in and they wanted to offer me," Clark said. "It's all new. This was the first time hearing from them."

Offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian was on the other end of the line extending the offer and he let the 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver know that he was impressed with what he saw just a few days before when watching his film.

"He let me know that he watched my film and that he was very impressed by it and it's what led to the offer," Clark said. "That's a big time SEC school coming in and with the new staff coming in they spent the weekend watching film and I was the one he was impressed by so he wants me."
