Perkins' top 10 coming soon

Aurora (Colo.) Regis Jesuit junior point guard Joshua Perkins said he is going to release the list of his top 10 schools following the holiday break.

Perkins, who is rated as a four-star recruit by, is hearing the most from Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Gonzaga, Houston, Kansas, Minnesota, San Francisco, Stanford and Wake Forest.

"I'm watching all of them to see how I fit in their system," Perkins said. "They [Wake Forest] like my style of play since it's how they play and they need a point guard for my class and I'm the guy they want."

He likes a fast-break type of offense that screens often, and is interested in studying engineering or sports management in college.
Wake Forest head coach Jeff Bzdelik scouted Perkins Monday, Dec. 11. He saw the 2014 prospect score 35 points in Regis Jesuit's 80-66 loss to Overland. However, Bzdelik was not alone. Gonzaga's Ray Giacoletti, San Francisco's Luke Wicks and Colorado's Mike Rohn were also in attendance.

Perkins is averaging 26.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game, while Regis Jesuit has clawed it's a way to a 5-3 start.

"I think I'm playing pretty well," Perkins said. "I'm not shooting the ball well, but I think I'm doing what I can for us to get the wins. We have kind of a tough schedule. We're using those losses to measure ourselves to measure ourselves against the best teams, so we're just getting better other than playing an easy schedule and getting the wins."

The 6-foot-3 and 175-pound Colorado product is in a difficult position, because he has to take a high volume of shots for the Raiders to be successful.
