Sooners Going Back to Sierra C.C.?
The Sooners have had success in the past going the junior college route and finding play making linebackers out of The Golden State. A few names that might stand out to Oklahoma followers over the years are Lance Mitchell and Pasha Jackson. Since then the Sooners haven't had as much success.
Linebackers coach Tim Kish is keeping an eye on one prospect out of Sierra C.C. in Roseville, Calif. by the name of Devante Bond. The 6-foot-3 and 230-pound outside linebacker prospect received a visit from coach Kish over the spring and found out what the plan is with the Sooners moving forward.
"He came up to the school and watched me. He liked what he saw and said he will be in contact with me and will watch me during the season," Bond said.
Showing interest in the junior college prospect, along with Oklahoma, is Fresno State and California. Bond currently holds offers from Washington State, UNLV and Utah State.
Sierra C.C. is a name that should be familiar Sooner fans as it's the same school that Oklahoma 2012 signee, Courtney Gardner attended. A relationship that could help play a factor in recruiting Bond.
