Day 2 recap + focus on secondary

Day two inside Truax Indoor Center had a much more up-tempo feel to it as coaches were very vocal throughout the session. There were quite a few former Beavers roaming the sidelines; Keaton Kristick, Darrell Catchings, Gabe Miller, Mike Remmers and Tim Euhus.

Joining them on the sideline was Jordan Bishop, Jovan Stevenson, Castro Masaniai and both Watkins brothers, all of whom were jogging if not running. Bishop and Stevenson in particular look to be close to 100%. Keynan Parker was also held out with what looked to be a sore foot/ankle, he was jogging as well.

A few members of the 2012 class were on hand and were intently watching their future coach, Coach Cavanaugh; Josh Mitchell, Gavin Andrews and Isaac Seumalo. Seumalo and Andrews may very well push for a spot on the two-deep if not a starting position and both looked big.

As individuals drills progressed, Coach Rod Perry placed heavy emphasis on low center of gravity and quick change of direction with his secondary. The group he has to work with has quality starters who have seen extensive game time and back-ups who are still wet behind the ears (10 corners and 5 safeties). The players seem to be buying into what Perry is teaching and his laid back, quiet style is much different from a certain former OSU secondary coach.
