LSU preview

Mississippi State hopes to keep the momentum going following a thrilling overtime road victory at Vanderbilt on Saturday.

The 16th ranked Bulldogs return home to the friendly confines of Humphrey Coliseum to host LSU tonight at 7 p.m. a place where they have lost only once all season.

The Tigers lead the series 104-96 but MSU has closed the gap recently winning four of the last five meetings. However, LSU has claimed two of the last three games including an 84-82 affair last season as Riley Benock's buzzer beater rimmed out. Renardo Sidney paced the Bulldogs in that game with 24 points.

The last three times these two SEC rivals have met the games have been decided by a total of four points.

State does hold a 57-37 advantage in games played in Starkville and Rick Stansbury holds a 17-12 record against the Tigers.

The Bulldogs enter tonight's contest at 16-4 overall. Mississippi State's 78-77 overtime win over the Commodores Saturday improved their conference record to 3-2. They erased an 11-point halftime deficit and got 24 points from Dee Bost to lead the way.
