Turning point:
Alabama led Vanderbilt 17-11 after JaMychal Green hit a jumper with 8:18 left in the first half. Vanderbilt's John Jenkins countered with a lay-up with 7:56 left, and it was off to the races for the Commodores, as that was the start of a 15-2 run to end the half.

A 15-5 VU run to start the second half put VU up 41-24, and there seemed to be little doubt about the game's outcome… until 'Bama reeled off seven quick points from there. But Rod Odom buried a 3-pointer with 13:01 remaining, then Jenkins scored the game's next five points, and it was essentially over.
