Dixon tells coaches he's solid
STRONG, Ark. -- Louisiana Tech fans were worried about this weekend.
Who wouldn't when your top offensive commitment in running back Kenneth Dixon is making an official visit to Arkansas State and the Gus Malzahn offensive show?
However, home from his visit to the ASU campus, Dixon said Bulldog fans have nothing to worry about.
"I actually just got off the phone with three Louisiana Tech coaches tonight (Sunday night) and told them that they have nothing to worry about and after this official visit to ASU I'm still solid to the Bulldogs," Dixon said. "They have nothing to be worried about. I did have a fun visit up to ASU and I got the chance to meet up with some of their players and talk to the new coaching staff and just see what Coach Malzahn has in store and what he is going to try and accomplish there. I had a fun time and all but after making this visit I believe Tech is still the right place for me.
"I really think I'm in the right place already man (in Louisiana Tech). I just wanted to really make sure that I was making the right decision because at this point in my life this is pretty much the most important decision I have made thus far. A collegiate decision is not something that you can make a mistake about and then come back and change it later. Once I make my decision then this is going to be the place that I am going to call home for the next 4-5 years. That home is going to be Ruston, Louisiana for me. The decision is made and I'm solid to Tech. I just had to make sure by taking this other visit."
The 5-11, 210-pound running back out of Strong Huttig High School is a three-star prospect according to the latest Rivals.com rankings and has been committed to Sonny Dykes and his staff since October 16 of last year. He chose the Bulldogs over offers from Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Louisiana-Monroe, Memphis and Missouri State.
Dixon is already academically qualified.
