Garmon down to three

Four-star running back Greg Garmon took an official visit to Arkansas this weekend and he is now down to three finalists.

The Erie (Pa.) McDowell running back visited the SEC school for the first time and enjoyed himself while he was with the Razorback coaches and players.

"It went real good," Garmon said of his official to Arkansas. "We had coaches meetings, academic meetings and meetings with all the players. I went to a running backs meeting and they practiced. It was a whole bunch of stuff that was going on. I sat down with Coach (Bobby) Petrino.

"It was my first time there and in some ways it was what I expected but not in others. I didn't know everything was going to be right there together like that. I didn't know the stadium was going to be right there at campus. That's what I love about a school ... it's a real college town."

Garmon, ranked the No. 18 running back in the nation and the No. 6 prospect in Pennsylvania, is done with officials.

"That was my last one," he said. "I'm down to my top three. It's Miami, Iowa and Arkansas."

Each school seems to have something going for it.

"Miami's always going to be Miami. They're always going to have that powerhouse football team.

"I love Iowa's coaches and they have this ability there. Coach (Kirk) Ferentz is going to be there until 2020 so he has no plans of leaving.

"After visiting Arkansas they just stand out to me, too."

Garmon plans on making his decision on January 3 at the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl in Phoenix.
