Texas A&M preview

Mississippi State ventures away from the friendly confines of Humphrey Coliseum for the first time this season to continue play in the 2K Sports Classic.

The Bulldogs travel to the Big Apple to play Texas A&M at 6 p.m. tonight in the world's most famous area Madison Square Garden.

MSU is no stranger to the Garden having played their four previous times sporting a 2-2 record there. The Bulldogs pulled an upset over then ranked 11th Xavier in 2002 and also won over St. Mary's in 2004. Their two losses have come to then No. 5 Syracuse in 2004 and their last appearance in 2007 when they fell 63-62 on a buzzer beater to West Virginia in the NIT Semifinals.

State has faced the Aggies, a future member of the Southeastern Conference, only twice on the hardwood. The series is tied with one win apiece with the Bulldogs prevailing 62-49 in the last meeting way back in 1966.

During inseason tournament play Mississippi State has claimed 17 titles posting an 84-73 record.
