2013 LB has sights set on BC

Luke Catarius was scheduled to attend the Boston College-NC State game last weekend but the local prospect couldn't make it over to campus.

That's still fine though because Catarius, a 6-foot, 225-pound inside linebacker from Dorchester (Mass.) Boston College High, said the Eagles are definitely one of his favorites mainly because he likes the way Luke Kuechly plays.

"I talked to them last year after the season and I filled out a questionnaire for them," Catarius said. "I went to their camp last summer but since then I haven't really talked to them that much.

"Luke Kuechly, I kind of look up to him, so that's important and BC is known for having linebackers out of there. I really liked coach (Bill) McGovern at camp. He's a really good coach and they're known for having linebackers so that keeps my interest level, too."

It is still early in the recruitment of Catarius, who said Harvard has been showing interest and Temple has asked his coach at Boston College High, Jon Bartlett, for highlight tape after his junior season. Other than those three schools, Catarius is still not hearing too much.

As for this off-season, Catarius was not sure of his camp schedule but said he absolutely plans to return to Boston College.

That will give him another opportunity to work out for the coaching staff - maybe even gain more interest in hopes of an offer - and it will better prepare him for a big senior season.

Catarius said he had such a good, quality experience at Boston College last summer that he definitely plans to come back - and hopefully move up the Eagles' recruiting radar.

"I'm absolutely going back to camp and I will probably sign up soon," Catarius said.

Boston College High wraps up the regular season on Thanksgiving against West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial.
