Two defensive prospect are high on Army
Justin Bolus, who is out of James Island (SC) James Island High School has already locked down offers from Army, Furman, UNC Charlotte and Liberty.
Now he is looking to see many of his suitors, up close and personal.
"The week of September 2nd I will visit Charlotte again .... more of an official visit this time," shares the 6-foot-3, 205 pound safety/linebacker, who is also looking to take a peak at the Black Knights.
"I need to connect with Coach Coaxum today to schedule my official visit at Army."
Bolus indicated that Army is looking at him at outside linebacker.
So which schools standout for the South Carolina native. "I'm high on Wake Forest, Army and I like Charlotte," he declares. "I like the position they (Charlotte) want me to play. They call it the 3 back. It's like a tight-end slash running back slash receiver. I enjoy how they talk about that role."
"I want to plan on visiting every place I can because I want to make the right decision," adds Bolus, who has a GPA 3.8 and ranked 10th in his senior class.
Bolus and his teammates open up their season this Friday and according to the defensive prospect, James Island is looking pretty good.
Kyle Sakowski, Safety
Speaking of teams looking pretty good, safety Kyle Sakowski and his Don Bosco teammates are loaded in 2011, which is confirmed by their No. 2 national ranking in the RivalsHigh 100 preseason poll.
The New Jersey high school plays highly competitve local and national schedule, which means that Sakowski has to balance his senior seaons of football and recruiting. And one school that is hot on his trail is Army.
"The coaches called me the other day and they want to get me up (West Point) next week to go in to talk to all the coaches," says the 5-foot-11, 195 pound safety prospect.
"I will find out then what's my position is in the recruiting process with them. I'm hoping for an offer, because Army is my top school and where I want to go."
So when is Sakowski looking to schedule his visit to the Black Knights?
"I haven't pinned down a day yet, because we have a huge game in about 18 days against Mission Viejo (CA.) ... on September 10th," he shares.
"Then we play against Manatee High School (FL) and we are flying down for that game, and then our 5th week we play St. Edwards (OH) and that's either at West Point on Saturday night or at Rutgers on Sunday."
"I really hoping it's at West Point."
So what is it about Army that has caught Sakowski's attention? "I am really interested in Army right now," he reiterates.
"When I went around there with Coach Waugh, I really loved the atmosphere around there, actually had a chance to see some of the cadets running around. Just looking at the entire place it reminds me a lot of Bosco, how the coaches demand a lot out of us and I really like it there.
The coaches were great to me and Mike (Yankovich) walked around there and they welcomed us."
Although Sakowski is hoping to pull in an offer from the Black Knights and have them at the top of his list, he isn't ready to pull the trigger immediately. I will be looking to make a decision after our 5th week ... pretty much after our big games and focus on our team now.
Other schools that the New Jersey prospect is looking at include Rutgers, New Hampshire, Maine, Richmond,
Temple, Georgia Tech, Delaware and a few Ivy League schools.
GoBlackKnights.com will continue to follow the recruiting of both prospects.
