Hogs like variety on offense

Arkansas did some live tackling during Tuesday's practice inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, and there were some positive results for the young running backs.

For 32 plays, the No. 1 and No. 2 offenses lined up against the No. 1 and No. 2 defenses, except there were reserve defensive linemen and the two interior defensive linemen were holding dummies. In addition, the only running backs to carry the ball were true freshmen Kody Walker and Kelvin Fisher Jr..

Walker is a big back at 6-2, 245, and he is working to improve his pad level. He has a lot of punch and has shown good vision, but for the most part right now, he is too upright. If he improves in that area he will help the team this season.

"I know it's too high right now, but I'm working on it every day," Walker said. "I had some shots out there where I could have gotten lower, but I'm working on it now."
